Who we are

QWQ Digital Studio is an Auckland-based web studio that builds websites for local service businesses. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to QWQ Digital Studio. Contact: hello@qwq.co.nz.

What we collect

When you fill in the contact form at qwq.co.nz/contact/, we collect the information you choose to give us:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your phone number (optional)
• Your business name (optional)
• Industry / service area (optional)
• Plan and budget range you are considering (optional)
• The message you write to us

We also receive basic technical information from our hosting provider Cloudflare (IP address, browser type, pages visited) so we can keep the site secure and improve its performance. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.

Why we collect it

We use the contact information only to reply to your enquiry, prepare a rough concept if you ask for one, and keep a record of the conversation so we can follow up. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not use it for unrelated marketing.

Who receives your information

Your contact form submission is delivered to our team inbox at hello@qwq.co.nz via Resend (an email delivery service). It is stored in Google Workspace (Gmail). Routing details are kept in the QWQ task queue, hosted on GitHub. Site hosting is provided by Cloudflare Pages. These are the only parties that handle your data. We do not share it with anyone else without your permission, unless required by New Zealand law.

Legal basis

We collect your information with your consent: by sending the contact form, you agree to be contacted in response. We rely on Information Privacy Principles 1–3 of the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 (lawful purpose, collected directly from you, with notice).

How long we keep it

Active enquiries are kept while we are talking with you. After 24 months of no contact, the records are archived or deleted. Project work for paying clients is kept for 7 years to satisfy New Zealand business record-keeping requirements.

How to access or correct your information

You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, request a copy, or ask us to correct something that is wrong. Email hello@qwq.co.nz with the subject line “Privacy request”. We reply within 20 working days, in line with the Privacy Act.

How to delete your information

Email hello@qwq.co.nz with the subject “Delete my data”. We will remove your contact record from our inbox, task queue and project files within 30 days, and confirm by email. The only exception is records we are required to keep by law (for example, tax invoices for completed paid work).

How we keep it safe

We take security safeguards that are reasonable in the circumstances to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, in line with Information Privacy Principle 5 of the Privacy Act 2020. Our website runs over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Enquiries are delivered to, and stored in, access-controlled business email and project systems, and we limit who can see them to the people who need to. We do not store payment card details on this website. No system connected to the internet can be guaranteed completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security — but we work to keep your information safe and will tell you if anything goes seriously wrong, as the Privacy Act requires.

Cookies

We use local storage to remember your display preferences (the qwq-color-scheme value, which records whether you prefer the light or dark theme) between visits. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your information, write to hello@qwq.co.nz first so we can fix it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will change the “last updated” date at the top and, for material changes, post a notice on the home page for 30 days.
